My name is Charlie Lewis.
I hosted a weekly freeform radio show on the esteemed freeform station WFMU from 1996 until 1 October 2007. Here you will find playlists for my show going back to mid-1997, and archives for most shows going back to mid-2000.
I am currently hosting a weekly freeform radio show on WVEW-LP, in Brattleboro, VT, Thursdays from 6 to 8 pm.
Some years back, I released a CD of some music I did with my friend Danny, under the name (what else?) Chuck and Danny. You can read about it, hear samples, and even buy it here, but if you're at all interested, I'll gladly send you a free copy.
I have also been known to play the guitar, both on my own, and in various bands, and as an accompanist. You can listen to, and download, some of my guitar music here.
But this is my best work.
Here is a list of some of my favorite recording artists.
I am partial to the writing of Patricia Highsmith, particularly the novels The Tremor of Forgery (1969), and Found in the Street (1986), and the short story collections The Black House (1981), and The Animal Lover's Book of Beastly Murder (1975).
I am also fond of the scribblings of Daniel Pinkwater, such as The Hoboken Chicken Emergency (1977), and Fat Camp Commandos (2001).
